This is a topic that needs more attention when training athletes. While acceleration is very important for athletes to become faster, this is just as important if not more.
So many athletes lack proper deceleration mechanics and in reality this is actually making the athlete slower in a game like situation. If your athletes can not decelerate correctly they then will have a hard time re-accelerating and never fully unleashing their true potential on the game field with their speed.
Also improper deceleration mechanics can lead to a greater risk of injuries. So learning how to decelerate is of utmost importance to our athletes.
